Worship Leaders

Worship at Christ the King
is the "Work of the People".
Worship Leaders
Lead worship by serving as
  • Assisting Ministers - assist in worship and communion liturgy
  • Communion Assistants - distribute communion
  • Crucifers - process and recess with the cross/crucifix
  • Acolytes - light candles, receive the offering, and assist with communion
  • Readers - read the lessons of the day
  • Cantors - lead vocal sections of the worship liturgy

Music
Enrich the worship service through vocal and instrumental music.
  • Choir - meets Thursdays 7:15-8:45 pm through the school year.
  • Instrumentalist - many opportunities as soloist or by accompanying the choir

Altar Guild
Prepare the altar area for worship by
  • preparing communion elements
  • "setting the table"
  • baking communion bread
  • changing the liturgical elements of the worship area
  • care for robes, linens and banners.

Ushers
Act as hosts for the worship service by
  • distributing bulletins and Parish Notes
  • counting worship attendance
  • collecting the offering
  • inviting worshipers to the communion table
  • identifying and tending to the need of members and guests so that they can enjoy and participate in the service.

Dramatic Disciples
Present liturgical drama and storytelling during worship and other special events.  Both on-stage and/or behind-the-stage participation is welcome.
