Chamber Music Concert: "For the Young and the Brave"Sunday, Dec. 7, 4:00 pm
Step into a musical animal adventure, a concert of story, imagination, and courage. Hear Prokofiev’s "Peter and the Wolf," Saint-Saëns’s witty and sparkling "Carnival of the Animals," and other creature-inspired surprises. The program also features performances by young student artists, sharing the stage and the spotlight. Bring your kids, bring your curiosity, and stay after to meet the musicians at a relaxed reception. Proceeds from this concert benefit MYCincinnati, a music outreach program for Cincinnati youth. For more information, contact Kathryn. Christ the King is pleased to welcome pianist Meng Yuan and violinist Dan Qiao of DuoMente as Artists in Residence. The pair will perform a series of chamber music concerts at the church as part of Christ the King’s Music with a Mission series. Performances are free, and freewill donations from each concert will benefit local, national and worldwide charities.
The concerts are intimate and informal. Yuan and Qiao want each concert to feel like a journey, not just a collection of music, to promote a feeling of care, comfort and connection. Concerts will include classical and contemporary chamber music, and feature composers from around the world and closer to home. A reception with the artists follows each concert. Watch for more concerts coming in the New Year! |
