"A Concert for Community"
|
Sunday, May 3, 4:00 pm
"A Concert for Community" brings our Artists in Residence, DuoMente, together with guest vocalist Yi Ding in a program centered on connection, storytelling, and shared humanity. Featuring "Paths to Dignity" by Lucas Richman — a project inspired by real stories of resilience and dignity from around the world — the concert reflects on global community and the human experience through music. Music with a Mission concerts are always free and open to the community. A freewill offering benefits Lutheran World Relief, an organization that brings disaster relief and ongoing development to people in poverty around the world. Meet the artists at a post-concert reception. |

Christ the King is pleased to welcome pianist Meng Yuan and violinist Dan Qiao of DuoMente as Artists in Residence. The pair are performing a series of chamber music concerts at the church as part of Christ the King’s Music with a Mission series. Performances are free, and freewill donations from each concert will benefit local, national and worldwide charities.
The concerts are intimate and informal. Yuan and Qiao want each concert to feel like a journey, not just a collection of music, to promote a feeling of care, comfort and connection. Concerts will include classical and contemporary chamber music, and feature composers from around the world and closer to home. A reception with the artists follows each concert.
