Deep Dive Bible Study: Short Stories by Jesus
Thursdays, Sept. 17 - Oct. 29, 6:00-7:15 pm Gathering Area Jesus taught using stories that are relatable and accessible. Sometimes the meanings of the stories are obvious, and sometimes there is a deeper context and meaning to what Jesus is saying. Service of Healing Saturday, October 17, 5:00 pm Sunday, October 18, 11:00 am Each year, Christ the King lifts up the on-going call to healing in a special liturgy. Within the regular service, a time is set aside where all who desire healing of any kind are invited to one-on-one prayer with the pastor, during which the congregation sings, prays, and lights candles with one another. Faith, Friends & Fun Sunday, Oct. 18, 4:30-6:30 pm Gathering Area Join us for a monthly children and youth faith formation program, designed for children of all ages - from 1 to 17. For more information, contact Kathy. Trunk or Treat Saturday, Oct. 24, 6:30-7:30 pm Christ the King Parking Lot Kids and grown-ups, put on your costumes and join us for trick or treating. Community members are invited to decorate their car and hand out candy. There will be prizes for the best costumes and car decorations. This fun, family-friendly event will be held rain or shine. Strings & Things Acoustic Jam Tuesday, Oct. 27, 6:30-8:30 pm Overflow Area Join musical friends old and new for a casual acoustic jam session. Food Drive Benefits Augsburg Lutheran Church Food Pantry
The CtK Community Harvest Garden partners with Augsburg Lutheran Church to provide their Shared Blessings food pantry with fresh, organic produce each month during growing season. In September we broadened that support with a non-perishable food drive. Family Promise
Join with faith communities from around Butler County in providing temporary housing for homeless families. Families stay at Christ the King several times a year for a week at a time. You are invited to participate by setting up/taking down bedrooms, preparing meals, helping with homework, spending the night with families, and caring for linens. Learn more about Family Promise. Second Tuesday of alternating months: February, April, June, August, October, December Christ the King volunteers join with Faith Alliance volunteers to prepare food, host dinner and clean up at Faith Community United Methodist Church six times each year. Stepping Forward is a weekly program that provides not just a meal, but specific skills, tools, and support so that community members can move out of poverty to a higher level of self sufficiency.
