Mid-week Lent Study & Worship
Every Wednesday during Lent @ 6:30-8:00 pm
(March 8, 15, 22, 29, April 5)
This study is built around Luther’s Small Catechism and will look at each major section of the Small Catechism in turn: the Ten Commandments, the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, baptism, and holy communion. Coinciding with the congregational reading of the Small Catechism, the Wednesday series will give an opportunity to gather together to discuss in depth each week’s topic. Worship will wrap-up the evening with a liturgy of Evening Prayer and Holy Communion.
Installation Service for Pastor Matt Byrd
Sunday, March 26 @ 3:00 pm
Assistant to the Bishop, Pastor Jeff Wick, will preside at this special worship service to install Pastor Byrd as Christ the King’s new pastor.
April 8 & 9 @ all services
This worship service turns to Jesus’ journey to the cross with the READING OF THE PASSION according to MATTHEW.
Triduum - The Three Days
Thursday, April 13 @ noon & 7:30 pm
This worship service will include foot washing, Holy Communion, and the Stripping of the Altar in preparation for Good Friday. The CTK Choir will provide special music.
Friday, April 14 @ noon & 7:30 pm
These worship services will include the Reading of the Passion and contemplative music. The 7:30 service will also include prayer around the cross.
Saturday, April 15 @ 7:30 pm
This worship service will include the Lighting of the New Fire, Stories of Salvation (told in story-teller fashion**), Thanksgiving for Baptism, and the First Easter Celebration of Holy Communion with the return of the Alleluias.
Sunday, April 16 @ 9:00 am & 11:00 am
These worship services will be joyous celebrations our Risen Lord! The CtK choir will provide special music at both services.

COPE - the Cost of Poverty Experience

Faith Community United Methodist Church

The Faith Alliance, Faith Community UMC, and Butler County Educational Service Center will be hosting COPE, the Cost of Poverty Experience, a poverty simulation. COPE is a fast-paced interactive poverty simulation designed to engage community members in an experience that demonstrates the realities of millions of Americans living in poverty. The program is recommended for clergy, church leadership and outreach ministry volunteers. Space is limited. REGISTER HERE. Although there is not a charge to attend, the program hosts suggest a $10 donation to Stepping Forward which will be collected at the door on the day of the event. X-days with Habitat for Humanity
Saturday, April 29 @ 8:15 am– 4:00 pm
The 5th annual Faith Alliance X-Days will be underway in April. X-Days refers to an effort to unite the Christian community together as the “X-ternal” church in service to our community. Faith Alliance is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati which will allow church members from various congregations to serve side by side.
Christ the King has reserved volunteer positions to work on a home in Hamilton on Saturday, April 29. We will be doing final interior details, touch-up painting, and exterior landscaping. All skill-levels are welcome. Training and tools will be provided. You must be age 16+ to participate.
