“We came to Christ the King in 2016 after our previous congregation closed,” explains Tom Bowling. “We were looking for a place where we felt comfortable, and where we would fit in.”

“Denise Simpson found out about my background and asked me to help design some liturgical art. I was honored to contribute and I felt known and welcomed.” Tom is a nationally recognized floral designer and for many years was a judge at the Pasadena Rose Parade.

Tom and his wife Su easily connected with Christ the King. “We were amazed at how quickly we felt comfortable here. I was so impressed by how people are welcomed to use their gifts and share their passion.
“What I love the most about Christ the King is that there is always something going on here, there is always a way for someone to share their gifts. If you don’t connect to one thing, there are other ways you can contribute. There is a place for everybody here.

“I am so excited to see how the congregation continues to grow, and the way in which we continue to welcome people of different abilities who contribute in sharing the gospel. Young and old, people who have been here a long time, and newcomers are all welcomed to participate and share their gifts. I appreciate the collaborative and creative spirit of ministry that takes place, and how everyone is welcome to contribute. It is such a joy to be here and to work with others to fulfill a vision that helps bring worship and ministry to life.”
