Philip and James, Apostles

Thursday, May 1

Philip was one of the first disciples of Jesus, and called Nathanael to “come and see.” Little is known of James, the son of Alphaeus, called “the Less” to distinguish him from another apostle named James.

Some of Our Many
Ministries

Outreach Ministries
  • Outreach Opportunities:  Check the NEWS page for the current Outreach Ministry opportunities.
  • Reach Out Lakota:  Supporting projects with Reach Out Lakota, a local food pantry and service agency, such as Back to School Supplies and the Christmas Adopt-a-Child gift program.
  • Fair Trade Items:  Providing for the sale of fair trade coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and chocolate to and through our congregation.
  • Ubi Caritas Concerts:  Developing and sponsoring community concerts throughout the year which embody the spirit of Ubi Caritas—”Where charity and love are, God is there.” Free-will offerings are given to various outreach ministries supported by the congregation.
  • Roselawn Food Pantry:
    Supporting food and non-food item donations to Roselawn Lutheran Church’s local food pantry. Opportunities to serve at the food pantry are also available.
  • Summer Lunch Program:  Work with Butler County Nutrition Services during the summer months to prepare and serve lunches to school-age children in the Lakota school district who qualify for the free-lunch program.
  • Vida Eterna - Iglesia Luterana:
    Supporting a Spanish-speaking mission congregation which reaches the Hispanic community in the Butler County community.
